IPmux gateway can simplify the migration path of 2G cellular networks and help integrate access and transport for co-located 2/2.5/3G cellular networks. Extending cellular networks while minimizing risk and expense is made possible using TDMoIP technology for circuit extension over IP. Lower cost infrastructure based on Gigabit Ethernet, Packet over SONET/SDH and Wireless can be used to extend full and fractional E1/T1 circuits from multiple Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) to the Base Station Controller (BSC) and from multiple BSCs to the Mobile Switching Center (MSC). The IPmux gateway is simple, scalable and supports DS0 grooming of voice and signaling channels with TDM cross-connect functionality for optional redundancy and load sharing.
