RAD’s Vmux is a scalable, compact product that uses advanced compression techniques to achieve a 16:1 compression ratio for voice streams and optimizes transmission of fax and Frame Relay. The Vmux transmits this integrated voice & data stream across standard IP connections and is compatible with DOCSIS modems. Since the Vmux interfaces with standard T1/E1 ports, it is ideal for providing PBX and Frame Relay connectivity for small to mid-sized businesses and voice services to MDU/MTUs. The Vmux-110 also includes router capabilities and an integrated Ethernet switch with rate limiting and DHCP capability to ensure QoS in the upstream.

With the Vmux, it is also possible to provide T1/E1 data services with service level agreements (SLA) to commercial customers. Commercial grade SLAs are achieved through Policy Servers and the CableLabs PacketCable™ Multimedia (PCMM) standard.
