KML.11 is a TDM over IP (TDMoIP) main link module that enables the payload of Kilomux-2100/2104 time division multiplexer to be delivered over IP networks.
The Kilomux-2100/2104 provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for integrating data, voice, fax and LAN traffic over digital data services, leased lines, IP, ISDN and other services. Access to the various services is provided over a variety of standard interfaces at data rates ranging from 9.6 kbps to 1,536 kbps.
The KML.11 main link module connects the Kilomux directly to an IP/Ethernet-based backbone. KML.11 converts the TDM bit stream delivered over the Kilomux into IP packets, effectively providing a cost-effective and versatile, modular TDMoIP solution for supporting popular TDM applications over emerging IP networks.
KML.11 is a standard IP device, supporting ICMP (ping), ARP, next hop and default gateway capabilities. IP packet size is configurable for the optimal balance between processing delays and bandwidth overhead. An enhanced buffer compensates for packet delay variation (jitter) of up to 300 ms.
Quality of Service is assured using ToS, VLAN tagging and priority labeling according to 802.1 (p&q).
